How do I download and install Mailbutler?

Welcome to Mailbutler! This article will guide you through the easy steps on how to download and install Mailbutler for your inbox.

Note: If you do not have an account yet, please first register for a Mailbutler account now. 

Download Mailbutler for Apple Mail

1. Log into your Mailbutler Dashboard (https://bowtie.mailbutler.io/).

2. Locate the drop-down menu by clicking on the icon beside your name (located on the far right-hand corner of the dashboard). Click on Downloads.
When you log in to your Mailbutler Dashboard for the first time, you will be immediately presented with the download options .

3. Here you’ll find all the available versions of Mailbutler and their respective system requirements. Select the version(s) you prefer by clicking Download.

Note: You can install Mailbutler on more than one device, and use your account with data synced across platforms.

4. Open your Downloads folder and double click on the zip file.

5. Double click on the Mailbutler installer file to open.

6. Confirm the installation by clicking Open.

7. Click the button to move Mailbutler into your Applications Folder.

8. If requested, click OK to give permission to install Mailbutler.

9. Enter your computer’s account password if needed.

10. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

11. Once the installation is complete, restart Apple Mail.

12. (For macOS Mojave and later) After installation, please enable Mailbutler manually in Mail by following the instructions here. Otherwise, Mailbutler tab will not show up in Preferences.

13. Go to your menu bar and click on the Mailbutler icon to open your companion app. Log in to your Mailbutler account and activate the plugin.

Check if Mailbutler is installed

Mailbutler is correctly installed in Apple Mail if you see these new buttons added to your Inbox view:

And you should also find new buttons added to your Compose window:

Download Mailbutler for Gmail

1. Log into your Mailbutler Dashboard (https://bowtie.mailbutler.io/).

2. Locate the drop-down menu by clicking on the icon beside your name (located on the far right-hand corner of the dashboard). Click on Downloads.
When you log in to your Mailbutler Dashboard for the first time, you will be immediately presented with the download options .

3. Here you’ll find all the available versions of Mailbutler and their respective system requirements. Select the version(s) you prefer by clicking Download.

Note: You can install Mailbutler on more than one device, and use your account with data synced across platforms.

4. You will be redirected to the Mailbutler for Gmail page in Chrome Web Store. Click Add to Chrome.

5. Confirm the installation by clicking on Add Extension.

6. Once the download is finished, a new tab with your Gmail inbox will open.

7. Log in with your Mailbutler account details.

Check if Mailbutler is installed

To check if Mailbutler is added to your Gmail, find a bright green drop-down button next to your Compose button:

You should also find a new toolbar in your Compose window:

Download Mailbutler for Outlook

1. Log into your Mailbutler Dashboard (https://bowtie.mailbutler.io/).

2. Locate the drop-down menu by clicking on the icon beside your name (located on the far right-hand corner of the dashboard). Click on Downloads.
When you log in to your Mailbutler Dashboard for the first time, you will be immediately presented with the download options .

3. Here you’ll find all the available versions of Mailbutler and their respective system requirements. Select the version(s) you prefer by clicking Download.

Note: You can install Mailbutler on more than one device, and use your account with data synced across platforms.

4. You will be redirected to the Mailbutler for Outlook page in the Microsoft AppSource store. Click GET IT NOW on the left.

5. Next click on Continue.

Note: You may see an error message saying You don’t have permission to perform this action. As you can see, it mentions Centralized Deployment. This means that your IT administration manages which Outlook add-ins (if any) you can install. Please contact your IT department to be able to continue with the installation or see if it’s allowed by your company software policy.

6. You will be redirected to the Office Store Add-In manager. In there, hit ‘Install’ and enable the Add-In.

7. After the add-in is enabled you can close that page.

8. Now, you can go to your Outlook email client.

9. You will see the add-in appear on the toolbar of your client. Click on the icon to open the add-in window.

10. Click on Start using Mailbutler to log in or register a new account.

Note: When you install Mailbutler for Outlook, it is added to your account and will be available for every version of Outlook that supports add-ins (Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac and outlook.com). You do not have to install the add-in separately for each version.

Check if Mailbutler is installed

If Mailbutler has been successfully installed you will see two buttons added to your tools bar.

Download Mailbutler for Outlook

1. Log into your Mailbutler Dashboard (https://bowtie.mailbutler.io/).

2. Locate the drop-down menu by clicking on the icon beside your name (located on the far right-hand corner of the dashboard). Click on Downloads.

3. Here you’ll find all the available versions of Mailbutler and their respective system requirements. Select the version(s) you prefer by clicking Download.

4. You will be redirected to the Mailbutler for Outlook page in the Microsoft AppSource store. Click GET IT NOW on the left.

5. Next click on Continue.

Note: You may see an error message saying You don’t have permission to perform this action. As you can see, it mentions Centralized Deployment. 8. Now, you can go to outlook.live.com to your Outlook email client to start using Mailbutler.

Note: When you install Mailbutler for Outlook, it is added to your account and will be available for every version of Outlook that supports add-ins (Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac and outlook.com). You do not have to install the add-in separately for each version.

Check if Mailbutler is installed

If Mailbutler has been successfully installed you will see the Mailbutler button added to your toolbar, both in your inbox, in the message preview, and in the compose view. After you click the button, you’ll see Mailbutler’s Sidebar pop up. Hit Start using Mailbutler to log in to your account or to create a new one.

If Mailbutler’s icons are not showing

Check Microsoft’s instructions to customize Actions in Outlook.com or follow the steps below.

1. Go to your Outlook web client.

2. Hit the Settings button in the top-right corner.

3. Go to View all Outlook Settings.

4. In the Mail section, select Customize actions.

5. Scroll down to the Message surface section. Enable Mailbutler in that selection. This will make sure that the Mailbutler icon is visible in the message preview.

6. Scroll further down, to Toolbar. Enable Mailbutler in this view as well. This will make sure that the Mailbutler icon is visible in the compose view.

7. If you still don’t see the Mailbutler button, make sure your window is wide enough to show all icons you’ve selected. Otherwise, the missing icons can be found by clicking the three dots (see below).

Download Mailbutler for Mobile

1. Log into your Mailbutler Dashboard (https://bowtie.mailbutler.io/).

2. Locate the drop-down menu by clicking on the icon beside your name (located on the far right-hand corner of the dashboard). Click on Downloads.
When you log in to your Mailbutler Dashboard for the first time, you will be immediately presented with the download options .

3. Here you’ll find all the available versions of Mailbutler and their respective system requirements. Select the version(s) you prefer by clicking Download.

Note: You can install Mailbutler on more than one device, and use your account with data synced across platforms.

4. You will be redirected to the respective app store page (App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android). Please follow the installation instructions provided by the store page.

5. Log into your account on the Mobile App.
